WEEK 1

Most people who walk away from faith say they just don’t believe “it” anymore. What may have been simple to believe as a kid is not simple to believe as a grown-up. So they stop believing. Yet the men who wrote the four gospels had one “it” they wanted people to know.

In this message, we start the journey of discovering what that “it” was as we enter the Gospel According to Mark.

WEEK 2

In Chapter 2, we read one of many conflicts yet to come between Jesus and the religious leaders of His day. Dan helps us to see that Jesus' response to the Pharisees was more about challenging the way they think than giving a definitive answer. So here's the question -- how do we honor the Sabbath?

WEEK 3

It does not matter how long you have walked with Jesus or how well you know him, there will be times when you feel like you have a crazy God.

At those times, your faith is in danger, because you will want to take things into your own hands. But rest assured, even the people closest to Jesus said, “He is out of his mind.” In this message, Dan will discuss what to do when God’s plan makes no sense.

WEEK 4

Jesus told parables for two reasons. The first was to explain what His Kingdom was like. The second, we often miss - to thin the herd.

Jesus wanted to separate those who wanted their ears tickled from those who really wanted to know God, follow God, and see what His Kingdom is like.  In this message, we will look at the parable Jesus said we must understand if we are to understand anything else He would teach.

WEEK 5

Have you ever been reading your Bible and a verse or two just stood out? I mean, stood out for the wrong reason. What do you do when what you read just doesn't match up with what you thought you knew about God, Jesus, or the Bible? Our Children's Pastor, Josh Potts, helps us to think about how God’s word will either lead to offense or obedience. To do that we are going to look at an offensive story found Mark.

WEEK 6

What do you do when life gets hard? Where do you go to find answers? Sometimes it’s hard to know how to handle tough situations and we don’t know where to look for the best answers.

In this message, our Youth Pastor Jimmy will help you find some of those answers as we continue to study the Gospel According to Mark.

WEEK 8

Stark County property taxes were due this week. This time of year you might find yourself quoting Jesus' words from Mark 12:17, "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's." Today, we will consider Jesus' full answer to the question, "Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar?" In his answer, there is a profound truth that goes much deeper than meeting our civic obligation to pay taxes. This truth requires our attention and response.

WEEK 9

Have you ever noticed that people have different opinions about other people? And those opinions create emotional responses. Those responses set the trajectory of our relationships and our life.

In this message, we are going to look at the different responses we can have and where they lead. Our hope is that you leave understanding that there is a “go to” response that can transform your relationships and your life.

WEEK 10

It's the final week of our summer series and the first for 21 Days of Prayer. The Gospel of Mark has revealed a lot about Jesus, and He is and was our model for prayer.

In this message, Dan explores Jesus' actions and conversations in the garden as he prepared to face the cross.
