After a 12-year career coaching college football, Pastor Dan Hanson sensed it was time to begin a new chapter in his life as a full-time pastor. He resigned from his role as Head Football Coach at Malone University in 2006 and accepted a supporting role at Canton Nazarene. In 2015, he was called to be the Lead Pastor. He has always maintained that to lead well you must know what it is to serve.
Dan is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and holds two master's degrees in religion and teaching. His wife, Andee, serves as the Middle School Director at Canton Nazarene. They have two adult children, Mac and Marlee
MIDDLE SCHOOL DIRECTOR
While maintaining a job full-time as a Medical Social Worker, Andee continues to sense God’s calling to lead at Canton Nazarene. She believes that if the church can partner with parents to influence the spiritual lives of children at such a crucial age, we can have a greater impact than we could individually. She enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor adventures, and rescuing animals.
She is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelors degree in Social Work and holds her license in the State of Ohio. Andee’s husband, Dan is the Lead Pastor.
Bryan has been serving in music ministry for over twenty years. He began leading the Worship Team here at Canton Nazarene in 2014. An essential part of the ministry team, Bryan primarily works to coordinate the music as well as various other aspects of our Sunday morning worship services each week.
Bryan also teaches Spanish at Perry High School. He is a graduate of Malone University and earned a Master's Degree in Language Education from the University of Indiana.
Bryan and his wife, Robin, have three children, Lyla, Aaron and Matthew.
When he was in high school, Josh felt God calling him to a career of spiritual leadership and has been working to pursue it ever since.
He is presently enrolled at Northwest Nazarene University and is continuing his education in Pastoral Ministry. In Spring of 2019, Josh became the Children's Pastor here at Canton Nazarene. His gifts of creativity and teaching allow him to make a fun, goal-oriented environment for your Child's development.
When he isn't in church, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife Hannah and their dogs or experiencing the great outdoors.
Jimmy came to our church in December of 2017. He has spent the last 18 years ministering to youth and families and enjoys the challenges and mile markers that come with it. He has felt his call since he was a child and has been pursuing it since allowing God to lead him wherever he is needed.
Jimmy holds a Bachelors in Religion from Trevecca Nazarene University and continues to pursue classes.
Jimmy grew up in Vienna,Ohio and married his high school sweetheart, Megan, and they have 3 growing children: Jude, Caden, and Kara.
Mark is the face of our office, greeting visitors and communicating with church members through phone and email.
Mark guides small groups, helps find resources, and seeks the perfect fit for any new member seeking to take the next step in their church life.
On Sundays, Mark helps lead our worship team. He also directs the adult choir for special worship nights and holidays.
Along with his wife, Lesley, his kids, and his grandkids, Mark is a part of many different ministries and small groups around the church.
Beau Garrett grew up just outside East Canton, Ohio and has lived in the Canton area his whole life.
He is currently working his way through an electrical apprenticeship with the IBEW and has previously worked
in commercial and industrial maintenance.
Beau has a passion for mission work and has been on 4 Work and Witness trips so far,
serving in places such as the Philippines and the Dominican Republic. He also serves in the middle school children's ministry.
John graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Computer Science. He is the Systems Administrator for North Canton City Schools. He has been with the district for 17 years. He also runs his own IT consulting business, which he started while still in High School.
He was born and raised here in Canton and has been with the church for 15 years. He does the IT work for the church and is on the sound team. He and his wife Becky have been married for 17 years and have two children, Jacob and Sarah.
Eva graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University. She also attended Kent State to earn an MBA. Retiring as an IT Manager from Roadway Express after 28 years, she had managed coding and applications for web and financial applications.
Eva grew up in Canton, and has coached Teen Quizzing for five years and served as NMI President, Nazarene Missions, for four years. She has a passion for Bible study and prayer. While married to Harry for 32 years, they have a married daughter, Maria, and a son, Carlos.
Colleen has both a passion for cooking and a passion for people. This is what makes her a great servant leader for the Fellowship Team.
Our fellowship team provides meals for Growth Track classes, funerals, church wide events, and more. Because of Collen's gifts of Evangelism and Faith, she uses these opportunities to truly focus on people.
Colleen enjoys spending time with her friends in service and is excited to get to know new people.
ACTS OF KINDNESS TEAM
Brenda graduated with an associate’s degree in Data Processing from the University of Akron. She has served as a community volunteer for organizations such as Jackson Local Schools, Akron Children’s Hospital and the Summit County Historical Society.
Brenda serves Canton Nazarene directly through managing the Food Pantry, as well as overseeing many of the ways in which our body of faith reaches out to the city of Canton with the love of God.
She is married to Jeff and have two children and four grandchildren.
Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Joshua has been attending Canton Nazarene for most of his life. He received his Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University and currently works as an engineering coordinator for Dominion Energy.
Joshua has been serving as the head usher since 2015 and has also been involved as a coach in Teen Quizzing for the past two years.
In his spare time Joshua likes to learn anything that piques his creative interest including painting, sketching, and antique collecting.
Ken Hochstetler grew up in Kidron, Ohio and is married with 2 daughters. He earned his
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Malone University and a
Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Kent State University.
Ken serves Canton Nazarene through the Finance team, and is involved in the Canton
Nazarene Safety and Greeters teams. When not serving at the church, Ken can be found
at the ball fields watching his daughter’s sporting events or outside enjoying nature.
Bob has been a member of Canton Nazarene since 1984. He is married to his wife, Susan, for 52 years and has two children and five grand children. He has served in a number of Leadership Team positions.
Currently, Bob facilitates two Life Groups and is involved with the Agape Bread Ministry.

Rose and her late husband, Doug, committed to over 25 years of ministry throughout the country. In 1993 they ended their journeys at Canton Nazarene.
She is currently using her more than 40 years of healthcare experience as the Business Office Manager at an Assisted Living facility.
Rose was married to Doug for over 43 years and is a proud parent to three grown daughters and an eight-year-old registered therapy dog “Boo”. Rose loves traveling, yoga, scrapbooking, working in the church’s café and singing on the praise team and the choir. Rose holds a deep regard for the senior community.
Joe Tarantino grew up in Canfield, Ohio, before attending Greenville University in Illinois, where he met his future wife, Barbara, and received a BA. He also earned several graduate degrees. Joe retired from PCC Airfoils after 35 years. He continues to work part-time, consulting in several areas.
Joe has served Canton Nazarene since 1986 as a member of Leadership Teams, Youth and Children's ministries, various sports ministries, the Cafe ministry, and international Work & Witness teams. He is an avid bicyclist and marathoner. Joe and Barbara have been married 40 years and have two sons, Giancarlo and Gianmarco.
